Gallery Software

When it comes to Gallery software, I’ve used plenty. Gallery (and Gallery 2), Plogger, 4images, and more. To be honest, I cannot say I liked all of them. Plogger was nice, simple, and clean, and there’s a good chance I’ll install it again. Gallery2 was pretty nice as well, and I could install it too, it just depends. There are also some plugins for WordPress I have seen that would let me have my own gallery running inside of my blog’s content management system, which I have given some thought to as well.
Have you ever used a gallery software, or management system? What are your thoughts?

Drupal

Drupal is an open-source, full-featured, content management system. I use Drupal on my IntelliForge site (http://www.thecellist42.com/intelliforge), and it works out very, very well.
Drupal has many features, and ways to customize it, that make it an amazing CMS to use with your sites. Drupal has various modules enabling blogs, and a blog API, and even built-in forums. Drupal includes a feed aggregator with it, allowing you to read any RSS, or Atom feeds you would like… and even make them all display on one page!
If you are interested in a powerful, and easy-to-use CMS for your sites, I would recommend Drupal. You can get it at http://drupal.org.

LifeStream Page, and the Wiki

Hi All. Today, I would like to talk on two topics… my new LifeStream page… and my Wiki! Well… lets jump right into it!
The Wiki: I am going to start off with the Wiki. The wiki is located at http://www.TheCellist42.com/wiki. The wiki, is also going to be associated with my new project, IntelliForge, allowing users to share ideas, and knowledge, and collaborate on articles to help anyone who reads with whatever they may need. The wiki is a place for people to collaborate. If you can, please stop by the wiki, and check out what it has to offer… and maybe even make an account, and post a few articles! 
The LifeStream: Now, onto my LifeStream. The LifeStream page is a place for feeds from all of the social networks I am on, to be displayed together. As of now, I have my blog’s feed, my Twitter, and my Flickr feeds integrated in this page. You can find it by looking at the navigation bar at the top, and clicking: “Life Stream.”

Blogging Software: WordPress

WordPress… more than just a blog now. WordPress is a blogging-based content management system, used on many blogs that you would find across the internet. WordPress is incredibly easy to setup, manage and use.
Where to get it: You can get WordPress in a .zip, or .tar.gz file at WordPress.org. It is simple to install, seeing as all you need is a MySQL database, and about two minutes. WordPress truly is the one-click install system.
Want to blog, but don’t have a site? Simple. Setup a free WordPress blog at WordPress.com. You simply setup an account, and begin blogging. Its that easy.
Sites that use WordPress: Some sites that use WordPress include WordPress.com, and Lockergnome.com. Both sites are free for you to sign-up for and use.

More New Accomplishments

Hey!
Well, Its Happened Again! We’ve moved more things around and done more tweaking to our pages and have come up with this! I have decided to move the blog off of the home page and create a new home page for our site, but it isn’t going too well, it looks like crap! Well, I am also planning to possibly give in to requests and give the entire site a CMS instead of various forums and blogs jumbled up into a site, lol.
I will definitely go with WordPress if I decide to recreate the entire website, which I might do, as I said. More than likely, I will not keep the theme we are using now, or if I decide to, I’ll have to edit the pages from the site and then arrange them in the system, which could take a while. I am planning on beginning a test site now and seeing where it goes from there, hopefully, I can get it to look good and maybe have it up in a week or two, hopefully. If anyone has any suggestions for the site or links to good, appropriate WordPress themes, please feel free to email me at Sam@TheCellist42.com.
