An Overdone Topic of a Post
Sunday, August 31st, 2008 | Uncategorized | No Comments
Well Hi Everyone! Today, I am going to write on a topic that is overdone, all of the time. “Blogging about how hard it is to find something to blog about.” Simply said, on some days (for me anyway), it is really difficult to find something to blog about here. Like today… I’ve been surfing the internet all day, and not a single idea on something to say. GAH! I hate it when I can’t think of anything to say. Eventhough this topic is overdone all of the time, I think it is at least, a statement.
That’s all for now!

My poofing and some other fun stuff…

Here we go, the post I have been waiting to write, the explanation on where I am going, and why I won’t be here. Well… here’s the story…
I had Mediacom as an ISP and for Cable TV service… Well, we had a storm and our cable and internet was out for a month (literally). So, we decided to cancel everything with them, and order a dish. My parents took care of the dish ordering (DirecTV ftw), and it was my job, and hope, to find an Internet Service Provider, for DSL. Well… I looked, and looked, and called, and called, and called, and called! AT&T, Qwest, Earthlink, Comcast, ICN, Speakeasy, Lightedge, and NONE OF THEM SERVICED ME. I was pointed to Ameritech by Qwest, and AT&T owns them, so I can’t have their DSL, then I called SBC Global, ALSO OWNED BY AT&T, so I can’t have that either! It made me so angry! Then… I called Verizon, not serviced by them either. This started to anger me to the point of calling AOL! I called my phone company (McLeod USA btw) to see if they offered DSL, and just my luck, they stopped offering new DSL customers 2 months ago! What a pain in the ass! Then, when all hope was lost, I called Mediacom wondering if I could get their cable internet service without cable TV, and I could, for $80 a month! NO WAY! So, I am still searching for an ISP, I tried mobile ISP’s, like Verizon, but I am not made of money here. Well, the search is still on as I said before. Hopefully I will find someone, and NO, no neighbors have WIFI, I have checked.
If anyone has any ideas on what I could get… email me at Sam@TheCellist42.com. My location is North-Western Illinois. If anyone has any idea on what ISP I could get, I would greatly appreciate it.
Right now, I am confined to my laptop at the library, and to be honest, that won’t last forever, and I can’t go every day. Maybe dialup is my only solution, but I hope not!

Yay For WP Updates
Saturday, August 16th, 2008 | Uncategorized | No Comments
Well, Before, I commented on how much I hated WordPress 2.6, and how buggy I thought it was… Well, in the WordPress 2.61 Update, they have fixed most of the errors I had encountered. The one error I didn’t see fixed was the Customize Plugin (made for my theme) not working. This is minor in my opinion because I simply can live without it.
One of the things I really did appreciate in the new version is the fix of the sidebar bug I saw. Now, I can freely “Drag-and-Drop” my sidebar again, instead of adding in the order that I wanted the items to appear. This made me happy, and it is a plus that it was fixed.
Overall, the new version of WordPress is completely AMAZING!!!!!11!!, and totally unlike the WordPress I described in my “WordPress 2.6 Is EVIL!!!!!!” post. I am happy the bugs were fixed and am STILL glad to be using WordPress.
